Esztergom

Esztergom (German Gran, Slovak Ostrihom) is a small city in northern Hungary, about 40 km north-west of Budapest. It lies in Komárom-Esztergom county, on the right bank of the river Danube, which forms the border with Slovakia there (with Sturovo on the other side).

Esztergom is the seat of the Catholic Church in Hungary; the city is known for its cathedral, which is the largest church in Hungary.
