Eva Gore-Booth

Eva Selina Laura Gore-Booth (22 May 1870 - 20 June 1926) was an Irish poet and dramatist, and a committed suffragist, social worker and labour activist. She was born at Lissadell , County Sligo, the younger sister of Constance Gore-Booth.

She settled in Manchester, living with Esther Roper whom she had met in Italy in 1896 at George MacDonald's villa; they stayed together for thirty years, later moving to London. Esther edited her Collected Poems (1929).
