Expansionist Party

The Expansionist Party of the United States is a fringe group that advocates the territorial expansion of the United States of America by admitting countries that volunatarily agree to join the U.S. The party's ultimate goal is the unification of world government under the United States Constitution. The party claims to be a "radical centrist" party.

The party appears to be, for the most part, a one-person organization run by L. Craig Schoonmaker, the party's co-founder and chairman. It does not appear to have any organization beyond its website, but aims to play a co-ordinating role with other, like-minded organizations in the U.S. and in other countries.

The Expansionist Party's self-declared presidential candidate in United States presidential election, 2000 was Craig Schoonmaker. Because the Expansionist Party is not officially registered as a political party anywhere within the U.S., and has never participated in an election as a party, Schoonmaker's filed for his presidential run as an Independent.

The party decided that it did not have the resources to nominate a candidate in the United States presidential election, 2004.
