Exposition Park (Pittsburgh)

Exposition Park was a baseball park that formerly stood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Opened in 1890, the ballpark was the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1891-1909, when the team moved to Forbes Field. The park enjoyed a brief revival in 1914 with the Pittsburgh entry in the Federal League.

The dimensions were a spacious 400 feet down the foul lines and 450 feet to center field. The stadium, which sat 16,000, was located near the Allegheny River across from downtown Pittsburgh, at the corner of School Street and South Avenue, between the site of Three Rivers Stadium and the current Pirates' home, PNC Park.

Being so close to the Allegheny River, there tended to be water on the field from time to time. The more recent stadiums in that vicinity are on somewhat higher ground.
