Eyemouth

Eyemouth is a burgh in the Scottish Borders, with a population of around 3,500 people. The fishing port celebrates an annual Herring Queen Festival and Seafood Festival, while the Eyemouth Tapestry commemorates the fishing disaster in 1881 when a storm killed 129 people in the town. Notable buildings in the town include Gunsgreen House and a cemetery watch house built to stand guard against body snatchers.

The town is named by its location, the mouth of the River Eye.
