Fame (song)

"Fame" was a pop song in the 1980s, made popular as the theme song to the TV series by the same name based on the movie Fame. The song was performed by Irene Cara, who played the role of Coco Hernandez in the original movie.

"Fame" was also the title of an unrelated song by David Bowie, cowritten by John Lennon. Released as a single in 1975 from the album Young Americans, it became the first of only two Bowie songs to reach #1 on the Billboard music charts (the second being 1983's "Let's Dance.")
