Fort Frederica National Monument

Fort Frederica National Monument is a unit of the National Park Service located on St. Simon's Island, Georgia . It preserves the archaeological remnants of a fort built by James Oglethorpe in 1736 to protect the southern boundary of the colony of Georgia from Spanish raids.
