Fort Prince George

Fort Prince George was an uncompleted fort in what is now Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. It was started by 41 Virginians in 1754 at the outset of the French and Indian War before being captured by the French. It became Fort Duquesne and later Fort Pitt. George Washington once resided in Fort Prince George in 1755.
