Fred Schneider of Athens, Georgia is the lead male singer of The B-52's. He is gay and has released two solo albums, Fred Schneider & the Shake Society (1991) and Just Fred (1996), the latter produced by Steve Albini.

He also appeared in The Flintstones (1994) and his voice in The Rugrats Movie (1998). In September 2004 it was announced that he will host a show called Party Out of Bounds on Sirius Satellite Radio in the U.S.
