GE Transportation Systems

GE Transportation Systems is the division of the General Electric corporation producing railroad locomotives and electrical and propulsion equipment for transit cars. It is based in Erie, Pennsylvania, and has AAR reporting mark GECX.

Products include diesel locomotives for the passenger and freight markets, railway car electrical systems, propulsion controllers, propulsion units, converters, and electrical equipment. In 2004, it became part of GE Transportation, which is also the parent division of GE Aircraft Engines, one of the world's top jet engine manufacturers.
