Geekcorps

Geekcorps is an organization that sends people with technical skills to Third World countries to assist in computer infrastructure development. It is a division of IESC, and "promotes economic growth in the developing world by sending highly skilled technology volunteers to teach communities how use innovative and affordable information and communication technologies to solve development problems." Its head office is located in Washington, D.C.

As of 2005 it's largest base is operative in Mali, with headquarters in Bamako. The project is mainly working with radio stations, but is also involved in the development local language resources, among which the Bambara Wikipedia .
