Golden Delicious

The Golden Delicious is a cultivar of apple with a yellow color. It is not related to the Red Delicious apple.

The variety was first called Mullin's Yellow Seedling when it was discovered in 1914 in Clay County, West Virginia. It is a very popular cultivar, being very sweet to the taste although it is prone to bruising and shrivelling and so needs careful handling and storage.
