Golders Green is a place in the London Borough of Barnet. It is principally a retail district centred on the Golders Green Road, and the cross roads with the Finchley Road. There is a tube station, a bus station with services available to many parts of London, and a national coach station. There is a library, and the local newspapers are The Hendon and Finchley Times and the Hampstead and Highgate Express

Golders Green has had a thriving Jewish community since the 1900s. Kosher food, restaurants and accommodation are available. Dunstan Road synagogue opened in 1922. There are now a number of synagogues and schools. During the winter festival of Chanuka a large Chanukia, a nine branch candle holder, is lit each night of the festival's eight days.
