Gurk

Gurk (Slovenian Krka) is a river in Carinthia, Austria. It is a northern left tributary of the river Drave. The 120 km long river flows from under Gurktaler Alps , near the border of Austrian provinces of Styria and Carinthia. It flows through the Gurktal valley towards east. Near Straßburg it turns southwards and it outflows into the Drave between Klagenfurt and Völkermarkt.

Near St. Johann in Carinthia, rivulet Görtschitz flows into the river Gurk. Another tributary from south and west is the Glan rivulet.

Gurk is also the name of a small town in Gurktal , Carinthia, Austria.
