Hardcore Dance

Hardcore dancing also known as fight dancing is a type of dance most commonly found at hardcore shows. It consists of a person jumping out into a cleared area, flailing their arms and legs around wildly in punching and kicking motions. It is also common to find hardcore dancers doing backflips, cartwheels and other acrobatics. In many shows there is both a mosh pit and a hardcore clearing, where people can hardcore dance freely, and slamdancers need not worry about being kicked in the face.

In order to stop a hardcore dancer from attacking you, place a bent elbow and a firm fist out in front of you to let the hardcore dancer know that you are there. The dancer should then either stop or move away from you.

The term getting awesome has also recently been coined for this type of dancing. This term is general considered derogatory, and may commonly be used by a heavy metal fan who would typically just headbang or watch the show rather than perform theatrics.
