can refer to a number of different things:
Physical place above something, in
altitude
or
elevation
.

or percentage of a certain item, such as a high
unemployment
figure.
It can refer to the state of a person being
intoxicated

drugs
.

meteorological
high pressure area
, a region where the
atmospheric pressure
is greatest with relation to the surrounding area.
Also, it can refer to the wealthy or purportedly more sophisticated part of a culture, for example, "high society ".
A shortened form of
