Impossible Mission

Impossible Mission is an Epyx 1983 computer game for several home computers.

Impossible Mission has the user play a secret agent whose quest to stop an evil genius. Professor Elvin Atombender is believed to be tampering with national security computers. The player must penetrate Atombender's stronghold and acquire various pieces of a password, all the while avoiding his deadly robots. Once obtaining all the pieces to the password, the player can use it in the fortress' main control room.

All the game elements are randomly generated each game, providing replay value.

The game is notable for its early use of digitized speech, especially Professor Elvin's opening line: "Another visitor. Stay a while. Stay FOREVER!"

Impossible Mission was released for the Apple II, Atari 7800, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum and Sega Master System. It was followed in 1988 by Impossible Mission II .
