James T. Blair, Jr.

James Thomas Blair, Jr. (March 15, 1902 - July 12, 1962) was a Governor of Missouri. He was a Democrat.

Early life

Blair was born in Maysville, Missouri in 1902. He was a member of Missouri state house of representatives. Later he was a colonel in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Politics

Blair became the mayor of Jefferson City, Missouri in 1947. He served as the Lieutenant Governor of Missouri between 1949 and 1957. He served as the Governor between 1957 - 1961.

He died on July 12, 1962. His father, James T. Blair, Sr. served in the Missouri house of representatives and was a justice of the Missouri supreme court.
