Jammers

A Jammer is a type of men's swimwear worn primarily by competitive athletes to obtain speed advantages.

Jammers are made of nylon and lycra/spandex material and have a form fitting design to reduce resistance caused by water. They provide moderate coverage from the mid-waist to the area above the knee, somewhat resembling compression shorts worn by many athletes.

The jammer style is preferred by some swimmers as a conservative alternative to speedos or competitive briefs by providing greater leg coverage. One downside is that they also add slightly more water resistance.

They are manufactured by most major swimsuit companies including Speedo, Nike, Tyr, Arena, and Adidas.
