Jaza'iranaa is one of the best-known songs from the Algerian War of Independence (1954-1962).

جزائرنا، يا بلاد الجدود
نهضنا نحطم عنك القيود
ففيك برغم العدا سنسود
ونعصف بالظلم والظالمين

Our Algeria, O our ancestral land,
We have risen up to destroy all thy chains;
In thee despite the enemy we shall rule
And blow away oppression and oppressors.

سلاما! سلاما! جبال البلاد
فأنت القلاع لنا والعماد
وفيك عقدنا لواء الجهاد
ومنك زحفنا على الغاصبين

Hail, O hail, mountains of the land!
For you are a fortress for us and a pillar
And in you we raised up the flag of jihad
