Jim Wallace

Jim Wallace (born August 25, 1954 in Annan, Dumfriesshire) is a Scottish politician, and Deputy First Minister of Scotland in the Scottish Executive. He studied Law at Cambridge University and Edinburgh University. He was Liberal Democrats member of Parliament at Westminster for Orkney and Shetland from 1983 to 2001, when he stood down to concentrate on Scotland. He has been MSP for Orkney since 1999. After the 2003 election he was named Minister for Enterprise and Lifelong Learning .

Jim Wallace is also an elder of the Church of Scotland. He was appointed a Privy Counsellor in 2000.
