Father John Francis Cronin, S.S. was the author of Communism: a World Menace. During the era of McCarthyism, Cronin was the secretive "Communist hunter" for the Catholic church . He was Assistant Director of the Department of Social Action for National Catholic Welfare Conference , and served as liason between the FBI and Richard Nixon (himself a House Committee on Un-American Activities member).
