Juan Ruiz de Apodaca

Juan Ruiz de Apodaca (Cádiz, 1754Madrid, 1835) was a colonial official in the last days of Spain's American empire.

He served as Governor of Cuba from 1812 to 1815 and, between 1816 and 1821, as the penultimate Viceroy of New Spain.

Ciudad Apodaca in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, is named after him.
