Karenna Gore Schiff (born August 6, 1973) is the eldest daughter of former Vice President Al Gore and Tipper Gore. During his 2000 campaign, she was one of her father's closest advisers. Now living in New York, she has recently received a $200,000 advance from Miramax Books for a book on unsung American heroines.

In 2001, Gore Schiff wrote a Glamour magazine article criticizing the Bush administration, which led to accusations on conservative websites that she talked down to her audience and proposed government-only solutions to vexing social problems (much like the attacks on her father).

Also in 2001, Karenna was hired as an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, a prominent New York City law firm. However, she stayed there less than a year, stating that the job was not for her.

She is now working for the Association to Benefit Children (ABC), a nonprofit group with a $13 million annual budget.

Talking about a possible future political career, Karenna said the following in a Hill Newspaper interview: "Sometime in my life, I might want to run for elective office....but I am conflicted about what goes into it. Right now my kids are so little, and I have more work to do in building a separate professional identity."

Karenna resides in New York with husband Drew Schiff and children Wyatt and Anna.
