Kongens Lyngby

Kongens Lyngby (shortform Kgs. Lyngby or just Lyngby) is the main city in the affluent municipality of Lyngby-Taarbęk, just north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The city consists of two districts, Lyngby (east of the Lyngby train station ) and Ulrikkenborg (west of the station) and has got a population of 19,500 pr. 1/1-2004.

Among other things, the city is home to the Technical University of Denmark, the once great soccer team Lyngby Boldklub, several large IT companies, financial institutions, major international engineering firm COWI and the much respected Lyngby-Taarbęk Philharmonic Orchestra.
