Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Jama'at-i-Ahmadiyya, believe that the elected leader of their community, the Khalifatul Masih, is the second manifestation of the Khalifat (as opposed to the Khalifat which ended with the Ottoman Khalifat of Abdul Mejid II), and that Allah has assured Ahmadi Muslims that this Khalifat will endure to the end of time. The Khalifat provides unity, security and progress for the Jama’at-i-Ahmadiyya.
Members of the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement, or Ahmadiyya Anjuman Ishaat-i-Islam, (who also call themselves Ahmadi Muslims) do not subscribe to this belief.
