Kirin

Kirin is the Japanese spelling for the mythical beast of Chinese culture see Qilin.
The word kirin has come to be used in modern Japanese for a giraffe.
Kirin Brewery is also a Japanese brewing company named after the Japanese pronunciation of the qilin, a depiction of which is used as its logo. ( http://www.kirin.com/home.html )
Kirin is an older spelling of Jilin, a place in China.
