Kreator

Kreator are a German thrash metal band, originally started under the name Tormentor. Starting their career in the early 1980's, they played thrash metal with heavy Slayer and Venom influences. Their style of music is similar with their compatriots Destruction and Sodom (usually referred by the fans as the Trinity of Thrash Metal). They differentiate from the Bay Area Thrashers easily by their brutality and speed.

Kreator have always been a "progressive" band in ways of moving forward and experimenting with different styles. After releasing their first three albums - with Pleasure To Kill being a classic - they made their breakthrough with what is considered now one of the best thrash metal albums, Extreme Aggressions followed by the equally important Coma Of Souls.

For the following decade Kreator would experiment with industrial or gothic sounds mixing them with their brutal and speedy riffs, finally releasing Violent Revolution on 2001, marking a succesful return to their traditional style. Kreator is a main influence for countless metal bands originating from all the scene's genres.
