Kyōwa (享和) was a Japanese era after Kansei and before Bunka and spanned from February 5 (?), 1801 to March, 1804. The reigning emperor was Kōkaku.
Change of Era
Because of the belief that the 58th year of every cycle of the Chinese zodiac brings great changes, on February 5 (?), Kansei 13 (1801), the era was changed to Kyōwa
