The Island of La Maddalena is part of the La Maddalena archipelago off the northeastern shore of Sardinia, Italy. It is a small, but lively island, which derives much of its income from tourism and the U.S. Naval base which is housed there. The main method of traveling to La Maddalena is by boat from Palau. La Maddalena is connected by cause way with the island of Caprera, with Giuseppe Garibaldi once lived. La Maddalena is full of beautiful beaches, rocky terrain, and ancient fortifications. Cala francese, and Basa Trinita are two exceptional beaches.
