Lamb of God (music)

The Lamb of God is a chant of the Catholic mass. It is chanted during the fraction rite. It has been set to music by many composers (see also Mass (music)).

The Latin text is:

Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccáta mundi:
miserére nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccáta mundi:
miserére nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccáta mundi:
dona nobis pacem.

The current 1972 edition English text is:

Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.
Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.
Have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world:
Grant us peace.
