Lenin Prize (Russian: Ле́нинская пре́мия) was one of the highest awards in the Soviet Union. It was created on June 23 1925 and was awarded until 1934. In 1935-1956 Lenin Prize was not awarded. August 15 1956 it was reestablished and since then was awarded again until 1990. Lenin Prize was awarded every even year on April 22 (V.I. Lenin's birthday) to individuals in the fields of science, literature, arts, architecture and technology.

Lenin Prize is different from the Lenin Peace Prize, which was awarded rather to the foreign citizens, than to the citizens of the Soviet Union, for their contributions into the "peace cause", in Soviet understanding.

It should also not to be confused with the USSR State Prize and Stalin Prize. Some persons were awarded both Lenin Prize and USSR State Prize.
