List of Chiefs Turkish General Staff
The Chief Turkish General Staff is a military person of rank general, who presides the general staff of the armed forces -army, navy, air force - of Turkey.
According to the Turkish constitution, in peacetime, he reports to the Prime Minister and serves as the Commander of the Turkish Armed Forces. In times of war, he assumes the "Commander in Chief" authority on behalf of the President. The General Command of Gendarmerie and the Coast Guard Command, as a part of the intemal security forces, are affiliated with the Ministry of Interior Affairs at peacetime, whereas at war-time, they fall under Army Command and Navy Command, respectively
