List of universities in Israel

There are eight official universities in Israel, listed below (followed by their English acronym, if commonly used):

All universities, except for the last two, offer the full range of graduate and undergraduate degrees - bachelor, master and doctor. The Weizmann institute does not offer bachelor's degrees, and the Open University does not offer doctoral degrees.

Other institutes of higher-learning in Israel, that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education in Israel to confer a bachelor's (and in some cases also a master's) degree, are called colleges (מכללות).

These include:

  • Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design
  • Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance
  • Jerusalem College of Technology
  • Shenkar College of Engineering and Design
  • Ruppin - The Academic Center
  • The College of Management
  • ORT Braude College of Engineering
  • Academic College of Tel-Aviv - Yaffo
  • Hadassah Academic College
  • Yezreel Valley College
  • Tel-Hai Academic College
  • Netanya Academic College
  • Interdisciplinary Center
  • Academic College of Engineering in Tel-Aviv
  • Sapir Academic College
  • Negev Academic College of Engineering
  • Shaarei Mishpat
  • Academic College of Law
  • Jerusalem College of Engineering

There are also over twenty teacher training colleges or seminaries, most of which can award only a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree.
