Livadiya

Livadiya is a town in the Crimea (located in south Ukraine) near Yalta. It is known for producing wine and is also a noted health resort. Dating from medieval times, Livadiya became a summer residence of the Russian czars in 1861.

The Livadiya palace , built from 1910-11, is now a sanatorium. It was formerly an imperial palace, and served as the meeting place of the Yalta Conference in 1945 and residence of Franklin Delano Roosevelt during the Conference.
