The Los Angeles Sports Arena is an indoor arena in Los Angeles, California. Built by the city in 1959 at a cost of $7 million, the arena sat 16,021 for ice hockey and 18,750 for basketball. It was the home of the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA from 1960-1967, the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA from 1984-1999 and the Los Angeles Sharks of the WHA from 1972-1974. The Los Angeles Kings also played a few games at the arena in 1967. It is also the current home of the basketball teams at the University of Southern California. Other events that have been held at the facility include boxing, wrestling, circus performances, ice hockey, skating, table tennis, equestrian events, conventions (such as the 1960 Democratic presidential convention), pop music concerts, and track-and-field meets.
