Lymm

Lymm (pronounced 'Lim') is an attractive small town within the unitary authority of Warrington, in north west England.

With a population of over ten thousand, Lymm incorporates the hamlets of Booths, Warrington , Broomedge , Church Green , Deansgreen , Heatley , Heatley Heath , Little Heatley , Oughtrington , Reddish, Warrington , Rushgreen and Statham.

Transport

The M56 (junctions 7 & 9) and M6 (Junction 20) motorways are both within 3 miles of Lymm.

Waterways

Lymm is situated on the Bridgewater Canal, whilst the Manchester Ship Canal passes close to the north.

Trivia

In 2002 it was announced that Lymm had enjoyed the greatest increase in house prices in the country, with average house prices of around £205,000.

Ian Brown from the Stone Roses, various members of the Coronation Street cast, a number of footballers from the nearby cities of Manchester and Liverpool, and Matthew Corbett (best known for the puppet Sooty) all live in the town. The Brazilian football team stayed at the Lymm Hotel during the 1966 World Cup.
