Mabou Mines

Mabou Mines is an avant-garde theatre company founded in 1970 and based in New York City.

The company was founded by JoAnne Akailitis , Lee Breuer , Philip Glass, Ruth Maleczech , and David Warrilow . It was named after the town of Mabou in Nova Scotia, where the founders had produced a play shortly before forming the group.
