Maidan Nezalezhnosti

Maidan Nezalezhnosti (literally: "Independence Square" ) is a main square in Kiev, capital city of Ukraine. There were the biggest protests in UBK campaign and Orange Revolution. Maidan Nezalezhnosti was completely rebuilt in 2001, removing old look with many fountains, and setting up new, more modernist look with bronze compositions (featuring legendary founders of Kyiv, Kiy, Schek, Horiv and Lybid, folklore hero Mamay and city's protector, Archangel Mikhail) and glass domes. Also huge underground market complexes under city center's were built, featuring the Globe, underground marketplace under Maidan Nezalezhnosti.
