Michael Connelly

Michael Connelly (born July 21, 1956) is a contemporary American author of detective novels. His best known works are a series of mystery novels featuring protagonist Harry (Hieronymus) Bosch . The first book of this series, The Black Echo, won the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Award for Best First Novel. He has written other books not in this series, including Blood Work which was made into a movie in 2002 directed by and starring Clint Eastwood.

Connelly is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned a bachelors degree in journalism. In addition to his books, he has written for television.
