Miscellaneous

Miscellaneous in the English language is a word used to describe a thing or a set of things that cannot be categorized into other categories. It can be distinguished from Etcetera as etcetera is a continuation of a set of things while this word deals with the incategorization of things.

Examples

  1. Dog, cat, mouse, computer
    Dog, cat, mouse are animals while computer isn't therefore it is miscellaneous.
  2. Apple, orange, egg
    Apple, orange are fruits while egg isn't therefore it is miscellaneous.
  3. Wheat, rice, corn
    Wheat and rice are grains while corn isn't therefore it is miscellaneous.
