Mockup (operating system)

Mockup is an open source desktop operating system.

It's based on a modified Linux kernel with a GNU foundation and its own desktop environment, code name BeFree.

The desktop environment uses TrollTech's Qt 4.0 toolkit and supports vector-based graphics, translucency, drop shadows and UTF-8. Mockup uses only newest open source technologies such as HAL the hardware abstraction layer, DBUS the message passing interface and automatic network configuration. Core developers are writing desktop specifications based on use cases.specifications based on use cases.

Mockup is available as a LiveCD to allow either testing or installation.
