Mudhoney

Mudhoney is a grunge band, formed in Seattle in 1988. The band is named after a Russ Meyer movie.

It was formed when Mark Arm left Green River, and joined up with former Green River bandmate Steve Turner. Turner had left the band before Arm, but both left for similar reasons. They were joined by drummer Dan Peters, and former Melvins bass player Matt Lukin (replaced in 2001 by Guy Maddison).

Mudhoney was an inspiration and influence of many musicians, including Kurt Cobain. Its career is chronicled in Our Band Could Be Your Life, a study of several important American underground rock groups.
