Naunet

In Egyptian mythology, Naunet (or Nunet) is the goddess of the primordial, watery abyss of the underworld and one of the Ogdoad. Her name means “Abyss.” Naunet was pictured as a snake or as a snake-headed woman. Sometimes Naunet was thought to have given birth to Ra and Thoth. However, occasionally she was considered to have been created by Thoth. She was married to Nu.
