In Egyptian mythology, Neper was a god of grain, especially barley and emmer wheat. His female counterpart was Nepit.

One of his titles was “He Who Lives After He Has Died.” This god represented the prosperity of the barley and wheat crops which the ancient Egyptians cultivated. His association with agriculture is as early as, if not predating, that aspect of Osiris. Pictured as a man, Neper’s body was dotted to represent grains of corn. The hieroglyphs that write his name similarly include the symbols of grain. Neper’s mother was Renenutet.
