Nudi is a computer program used for managing and displaying the Kannada alphabet on computers. The Karnataka government owns and makes Nudi freely available, though it was developed by the Kannada Ganaka Parishat firm, which is still engaged in developing and updating this program, though fontographers not associated with the firm are also able to design new fonts for Nudi using programs such as Fontographer, Fontlab , and Font creator . Most of the fonts included with NUDI can be used for dynamic font embedding purposes; however, since the fonts and software are available free, they can be used in other situations as well.
