Opava

Opava (German Troppau, Polish Opawa) is a city with a population of 61,582 (2002) in the northern Czech Republic. Opava is the historical capital of Czech Silesia, now in Moravian-Silesian Region, situated on the Opava River. Opava was founded in the 12th century and the Congress of Troppau took place here in 1820.
