Ota, Gunma

Ōta (Japanese: 太田市; -shi) is a city located in Gunma, Japan.

As of March 28,2005, the city has an estimated population of 21,7038 and the density of 1,229.75 persons per km². The total area is 176.49 km².

The city was founded on May 31 1948 and the mayor is Masayoshi Shimizu. The city is home to Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd.

On March 28th, 2005, Nitta Town, Ojima Town, and Yabuzukahon Town are expected to be annexed by Ōta City.totalpopulation of 217,038。
