Paralia (Greek: Παραλία) is a municipality and a community 6 km south of and a suburb of Patras. The municipal population is between 6,000 to 7,000. There are some factories and manufacturing plants but most of them lie to the north. The neighboring communities are Lefka and Ovrya to the north, Thea and Mintilogli in the east and Roitika in the south. The town hall is located in the west side on the former Greece Interstate 9. It is Patras' and the southern part's nearest beaches. Beach restaurants and night clubs flourish by the beaches on the entire length. The shoreline is entirely next to a former GR-9. The commune has schools. A new beltway now runs through Paralia founded east of the centre. The railway is no further than 200 m away from the shore. There are about 1,000 to 1,200 buildings throughout the community and around 2,500 in the municipality. In size, it is the smallest municipality in the prefecture of Achaia.

Geography

The urban area are within the beaches and some farmland inland. Most of the people live in two communities of Paralia and Mintilogi. Most of the rural lands are in the central part in the muicipality. Hills cover the eastern part.
