Peterborough culture

Peterborough culture is the name given by some archaeologists to the prehistoric people who produced Peterborough ware pottery and also distinctive polished flint knives.

The manufacturers of the pottery lived in north and eastern Britain during the late Neolithic. Advances in archaeological knowledge and theory have meant that the term, implying as it does a unified society, has fallen out of favour.
